The Recipes for 2/28/18

Pick of the Week:
Thanos #16 gave me what I asked for and then some with Frank Castle as Ghost Rider.  It makes perfect that Frank Castle whose very existence stems for the need for revenge becomes the Spirit of Vengeance.  The sequence of events that led him down the path of a Spirit of Vengeance & Herald of Galactus also worked quite well.  I could only imagine how destructive Frank could truly be with his one track mind, cosmic powers and supernatural body.  I wonder if Frank has enough power to end Thanos, especially since he’s unkillable.  The creative team threw in an added bonus of a worthy Norrin Radd armed with  Mjolnir and King Thanos wielding Surtur’s sword.  The 10 year old nerd in me wants to see this battle on the big screen or at least animated.  I also hope that 616 Frank’s next big change is the Spirit of Vengeance.

Worthy Mentions

Avengers #682 made me realize that Jason Momoa could play Hercules if he ever appears in the MCU.  Hercules’ lines in this issue sounded like something Momoa’s Aquaman would say.  This arc is beginning to drag overall, especially the Hulk tease.

Doom Patrol JLA #1 definitely changed the status quo of the Young Animal heroes and also made me wish that Doom Patrol wasn’t delayed.  I eager to find out what happens next, especially with Cliff.  Part of me hoped that Milk Man could have joined (depowered or powers changed to be less of a flying brick).  I am also curious to see how Lobo would change under Way’s pen

Silencer #2 still feels like a better version of Cable’s Blood and Metal mini series. JR jr’s art is in rare form

Lockjaw #1 made me wonder if we’ll get any  definitive answer on his origins.

The Terrifics #1 reminds me of the Incredibles in the sense that an entity outside of Marvel gave the audience a satisfying Fantastic Four adventure.

The Meh Pile:

Nothing that horrid & foul has polluted the pull list.
