The Recipe for 3/7/18

Pick of the Week:
Blackbolt #11 guess Blackbolt never spoke to Xavier about how persistent psychic monsters are.  The Jailer seems to be like Shadow King through the filter of a horror movie.  I am glad that the Silent King’s shortcomings have been exposed and he is owning up to them, especially being a crappy husband & father.  It was touching that Ahura was willing to forgive his father and offer help during his time of need.  I am also glad that Titania continues to humanized and fleshed out.  The ending was unexpected but it was equally welcomed.

Infinity Countdown #1 made me wonder what Loki’s endgame is and I hope that it pans out (not fizzle out like most mega events).  I absolutely loved the development with Groot, fully restored by his maker.  I hope that Drax sticks around with that ragtag group of Novas for a bit longer.  It is an absolute delight to see Aaron Kuder draw the Guardians again.

Extremity #12 was definitely a twisted version of Avatar the Last Airbender.  Thankfully the originators of the Paznina and Roto feud were able to look past the hatred/hurt and find a sense of peace despite the heavy causality.

Worthy Mentions

Avengers #683 seems to fizzle abit and the Voyager reveal was a bit flat.  The Beast Wasp moment was good and hope that they continue to work with each other after this mega event.

Amazing Spider-Man #797 gives us the end of the troubled career of the heroic former Green Goblin turn Hobgoblin turn Goblin Knight turn Goblin King.  It was a pleasure to have Stuart Immonen back on art duty.

Firebug TP felt like a mix of the Firestarter (Drew Barrymore film) and Coven (pyrokinetic dude from Sky High playing a warlock) with a dash of CW/MTV drama since it dealt with teenagers with supernatural legacies dealing with serious problems.

The Meh Pile:

Nothing that horrid & foul has polluted the pull list.
