AvX Consequences #3 Review

*SPOILER FREE REVIEW*

Script:  Kieron Gillen
Pencils:  Scot Eaton

In part three of this five part series, we get to check in with various participants in the Avengers vs. X-Men event.  There are also clues dropped that influence future books in the Marvel NOW!

Iron Man seeks answers juggling science versus magic, Cyclops deals with some inmates who aren’t keen on the mutant species and enjoys being a prisoner, Emma Frost and Kitty Pryde do some female bonding, Storm receives a visitor and ponders her next move, and Hope Summers makes a decision.

What I Liked

I liked the various teases throughout the book.  It reminded me of the Marvel NOW! Point One in that manner.  It was also good seeing that even though Cyclops is behind bars, that hasn’t stopped him from scheming.  I believe this is also Emma Frost’s first appearance since Avengers vs. X-Men concluded.  At least we know that she was apprehended along with Summers.

What I Didn’t Like

The scenes with Storm initially confused me.  I had to read it a few times before I understood what was going on.  Also, what title will pick up Hope’s story?  I have been saying it should be Uncanny Avengers, but maybe Marvel has other plans for her.

AvX Consequences is very much the story of Cyclops’ journey, but it is good that other crucial components of Avengers vs. X-Men are being touched on.  Make sure to leave your comments below with your thoughts.
