The Recipe for 3/28/18

Pick of the Week:
Nada for this week

Worthy Mentions

Despicable Deadpool #297 surprised me that 20 million would be enough incentive to get villains to accept a hit on Wade.  Granted his extremely annoying and probably made many enemies during his career, thought his skill and healing factor would make most decline that hit.  This issue also made me regret that the animated series in now kapoot (IMO this current run would be excellent in animated form).

Damnation – Johnny Blaze – Ghost Rider #1 reminded me of the Noble Kale Ghost Rider reveal & run minus the convoluted bits.  I assume that he’ll be resurrected by the end of this miniseries.

Justice League of America #27 feels like DC is showing Marvel how to properly utilize villainous Time Travelers.  Chronos feels like a viable threat unlike Kang who comes off as a Mort in most situations.

Old Man Hawkeye #3 feels like a rehash of Old Man Logan with the whole revenge plot. Checchetto’s art is well worth the price of admission.

Suicide Squad #38 felt like it could easily be a new USAgent book with the Wall on one level.  It also felt like it has the premise for an awesome CoD FPS game.

The Silencer #3 still reminds me of that old Blood & Metal Cable mini series.

The Terrifics #2 has the alien local and trippy circumstances that initially drew me to the Fantastic Four.

X-Men Blue #24 made me chuckle that Havoc and Bastion actually confronted Magneto, the Master of Magnetism.  I am curious to see how Logan’s sons interact with each other.

Rednecks #11 had a plot twist that I never expected and reminded us of what an absolute terror Grandpa was.  This should be the next comic franchise that gets adapted to TV.

Peter Parker – The Spectacular Spider-Man #302 confirmed that Peter Parker has a sister and I am surprised that no comic news site announced (unless I misread it).

The Meh Pile:

Dark Knight Metal #6 is a mess that allowed us to have the Silencers and the other upcoming books.
