CM PUNK Writing DRAX Ongoing Series

On the final day of C2E2, Marvel announced that wrestler and mixed martial artist CM Punk will be bringing his talents to the House of Ideas to write Drax.  This will follow the adventures of Drax while he’s away from the Guardians of the Galaxy.  CM Punk’s first writing credit with Marvel was for the Thor Annual #1.  

Drax #1 is due out in the Fall of 2015.  The rest of the creative team has not yet been announced.  Every member of the Guardians of the Galaxy will have an ongoing series by that point.  Marvel is making sure to fully capitalize on the popularity of the Guardians after their successful film.

I’ll be curious to see what non-comic book fans CM Punk will be able to to attract.  This will be Drax’s first ever solo series.  It could be wacky enough to work.
