Writer:  Brian Michael Bendis
Penciller:  Stuart Immonen
Inker:  Wade Von Grawbadger
Colorist:  Marte Gracia
Letterer:  VC’s Cory Petit
Publisher:  Marvel Comics

The future Brotherhood have the time-displaced X-Men and Cyclops’ team of X-Men on the ropes.  The Brotherhood has infiltrated their secret base, and plan on taking the X-Men’s most dangerous weapon, Jean Grey, out of the fight first.

While this battle takes place, we learn even more regarding the Brotherhood’s true motivation.  Along with answering the question of just how did their members survive dying in ‘Battle of the Atom’.

What I Liked

Brian Michael Bendis‘ use of time travel is amazing.  I love how the story jumps from the present to the future and back to the present again.  We are getting more and more answers to the questions regarding the Brotherhood.

I originally thought future Beast went mad with guilt over bringing the original X-Men into the present and wrecking the space-time continuum.  It looks like that may not be the case after-all.

The art team of Stuart Immonen continues to do a tremendous job of storytelling.  With Bendis’ dialogue-laden pages, Immonen gives us glimpses of future battles between the X-Men and Brotherhood, along with Brotherhood planning sessions.  I honestly couldn’t imagine another artist illustrating these stories.  Bendis and Immonen are what make All-New X-Men such a stellar comic book.

What I Didn’t Like

With all the revelations we are getting for the Brotherhood, it would be nice to find out what made Molly Hayes and Deadpool join them.  Same for some background information on the Ice Hulk creature.  Also, how is the Brotherhood achieving time-travel?  Can it be assumed that future Beast is behind it?

Summary

We find out what the deal is with future Beast, and what the Brotherhood’s real beef is with the X-Men.  Charlie Xavier and Raze make a pretty good team.  I wouldn’t mind seeing more of them in the *ahem* future.
