Lettering & Production:  VC’s Clayton Cowles
Cover Artist:  Kevin Wada
Publisher:  Marvel Comics

Marvel has been on a roll with their most recent “out-of-the-box” publishing decisions.  Hawkeye has led the way for new untraditional superhero tales.  She-Hulk was one of the first All-New Marvel NOW! books to be announced.  Who better to shepherd Jennifer Walters new ongoing tales than rising star Charles Soule.  Joining him to bring She-Hulk to life through images is Javier Pulido, Muntsa Vicente, and Clayton Cowles.

What I Liked

Where do I begin?  As much as I love comics entrenched in continuity, it is refreshing to pick up a comic and not have to worry about years upon years of backstory.  Soule and Pulido crafted a story that is humorous, entertaining, and visually appealing.

From the reactions Jennifer gives to her legal bosses, to her encounter with “Legal” are priceless.  One of my favorite moments was “Legal” re-telling a certain guest-star’s convoluted history.  Pulido nailed each facial reaction.  Soule lets readers into the legal world, which he is familiar with (he is a practicing attorney).  The final page layout was a brilliant way to end the comic.

What I Didn’t Like

Not a single thing.  Marvel has another winner on its hands.  Keep the She-Hulk adventures coming.

Summary

Charles Soule is quickly becoming one of my favorite superhero writers.  From Thunderbolts to Red Lanterns, I find myself adding more and more of his books to my reading list.  She-Hulk is an under-utilized character, but with Soule and Javier Pulido embarking on this new journey with her, it’s a can’t miss.  Entertainment inside and outside the courtroom is on deck.  To quote Ms. Walters, “COME ON!”

Glad to hear that She-Hulk is as good as every other book Soule is putting out. That man is a god among men, I swear.

    • I need to read his Letter 44 too. Hear great things about it, just been slacking checking it out. Since I like everything else he does, I need to get on it.

And yeah, She-Hulk was real fun. Thanks for checking the review out so quickly!
