Marvel Studios Reveals Their Secret 2014 Movie

There has been much speculation regarding Marvel Studios and the year 2014.  Marvel has laid out the future dates for their line of movies, but one movie in 2014 hasn’t had a name or franchise tied to it yet.  Until now.  Via GeekTyrant, Guardians of the Galaxy is going to be the newest addition to the Marvel Studios family.

According to the report, Guardians of the Galaxy will feature the current lineup starring Star-Lord, Drax the Destroyer, Gamora, Groot and Rocket Raccoon.  Another surprise is that Thanos, the Mad Titan who was revealed in the after-credits scene of The Avengers, will also be in the Guardians of the Galaxy movie.

I think this is a smart move by Marvel.  Thanos needs to be properly introduced before making an appearing in Avengers 2.  This way, audiences can see just how deadly of an opponent he is.  Thanos can give the Guardians of the Galaxy a run for their money, then move on to take on The Avengers.  It is also worth noting that Guardians of the Galaxy guest-starred on this season of The Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes.  Coincidence?  I don’t think so.

What I especially like is the possibility that Nova could be introduced.  Nova has been one of my favorite characters, dating back to his days as a member of New Warriors.  I have my doubts that Marvel would put out a solo Nova movie before introducing him in something like Guardians of the Galaxy.  But that’s okay with me.  Nova can show DC how a “space cop” movie should be done (looking at you Green Lantern).

    Not too familiar with Guardians of the Galaxy but I’m all for for Marvel launching another series. Did an awesome job with the Avengers.

    • Before the Guardians of the Galaxy movie comes out, I want to make sure I read up on some of their Marvel stories.  Especially The Thanos Imperative

  • I was interested in knowing if it was them. Many thought Black Panther,which I think Marvel will intoduce him like Captain America. He will introduce the new element or villian for Avengers 3 or be at the end of Avengers 2. Marvel tryingto keep that character quiet for some reason.

    • I think Black Panther will eventually get his own movie, but like you said, I think he’ll be introduced in something like Captain America 2 or 3 first.
