Pick of the Week:

Empress No. 7 thoroughly delighted me.  I loved how Emporia turned Morax’s arrogance against him & shoved it down his throat.  I also loved how Aine stepped up and asserted herself.

Worth the read:

Batman Annual No. 1 was surprisingly touching.  Alfred deserves extra kudos for nursing another broken damaged creature from the brink of chaos to some semblances of normalcy. Minister Blizzard makes me wonder if all the cold & ice themed villains ever get tired of the competition. Wilson’s and Evely’s story was the best in the annual IMO.
Black Widow No. 8 provided some unexpected humor with Natasha’s interaction with the kids.  It also demonstrated how formidable the Dark Room kids.  The girls are able to give Nat trouble & completely school government agents.  I am surprised that S.H.I.E.L.D. didn’t take the girls & put them aside for assets.
Deadpool – Back in Black No. 4 made me wish Wade got the symbiote.  This is infinitely more interesting than the current Venom series.
Extraordinary X-Men No. 16 ended in such a predictable way.  The ending was a slight twist, wonder how it pans out.
Ghost Rider No. 1 felt like Robbie took a backseat to the guest stars. The Hulk’s interaction with the weird purple pokemon-esque creature was more interesting than the Robbie segment.
Great Lakes Avengers No. 2 reminds me of Nextwave with the dark humor.  I dug how the normals are acclimated with the absurdity of the Marvel Universe.  The nurse’s comment about her gripes with treating werewolves and encountering them before.
Guardians of the Galaxy No. 14 was such a delightful Skrull-filled misadventure. It was funnier than I expected.
Inhumans vs X-Men No. 0 has me in an odd place about Emma Frost’s depiction.  I am glad that she is taking up the mantle and rallying the troops.  I am also disappointed that she appears to be going crazy ala Wanda Maximoff.  Not sure why the superhero community is more or less silent about the Inhuman’s reckless behavior.  Blackbolt set off a catastrophe that brought a group of people to the brink of extinction.  The event is beneficial to them so this is probably why they aren’t so quick to address it or the resulting grievances.
Monstress No. 8 made me chuckle a bit with the octopus and shark pirates.  The world gets more interesting with each tidbit revealed.
Ms. Marvel No. 13 seemed like it would have been timely if it came out a month ago.
Old Man Logan No. 14 feels like they are beating a dead horse with Wolverine & Vampires.
Romulus No. 2 gave us an interesting interpretation of the Illuminati .
Seven to Eternity No. 3 really put Adam in a rough situation.  Choose good and get a small measure of hope/salvation.  Choose evil and guarantee survival for his family & add some precious time.
Shutter No. 24 fleshed Huckleberry’s past and illustrated the strength of her bonds.
Star Wars Annual No. 2 made me want to see more of Pash Davane.
Superman Annual No. 1 was interesting in the sense that I didn’t realize Clark was aware of Holland.
The Totally Awesome Hulk No. 12 gave Amadeus a measure of closure.
Thunderbolts No. 7 reminded me of an Extreme Studio comics.
Uncanny Inhumans No. 16 found the resurrection & the Blackbolt thing interesting.  He basically talked under his breath.

Nah, Just Nah:

New Avengers No. 18 and Suicide Squad No. 7 were boring as hell.
