Pick of the Week:

No picks for this week… nothing blew me away or merited additional reads

Worth the read:

Action Comics No. 964 more or less establishes the mystery Clark Kent as a regular human.

Batgirl No. 3 bores me a bit with the extra combat.

Batman Beyond – Rebirth No. 1 feels like the animated series never ended.

Blue Beetle No. 1 still makes me wish that Blue Beetle was reimagined as a Super Sentai/Kamen Rider style hero.

Captain America – Sam Wilson No. 13 & Captain AMerica – Steve Rogers No. 5 illustrated Steve’s criminal genius and showed his influence in certain key Civil War II moments.

Captain Marvel No. 9 gave us a mutiny thanks to the town crier’s prophecy and political manipulation.

Civil War II – Kingpin No. 3 shows a very brutal slobberknocker between Castle & Fisk.

Deadpool No. 19 expands on the feud between the daughters of Wade and what will happen to his wife.

Deadpool Annual No. 1 presented us with the return of Gothic Lolita and Adam Warren’s creative genius!

Detective Comics No. 941 made me wonder why Gotham Girl & Nightwing would be so reckless when dealing with walking biohazards.

Descender No. 15 revealed the origins of the Inbetween faction now how Andy met Effie.

Doctor Strange Annual No. 1 revisits the bond between Clea and Stephen as well laid the groundwork for the new series.

Drax No. 11 wraps up the arc and cements Drax as Space Brock Samson in my eyes.

Extraordinary X-Men No. 14 made me chuckle with Forge’s handling of Apocalypse.

Frostbite No. 1

Hal Jordan and the Green Lantern Corps No. 5 explains the nature of Hal’s transformation and cements Guy as one tough bastich.

Island No. 11 was a bit too weird for me.

Lake of Fire No. 2 makes me curious about the endgame for this series.  The aliens already changed the societal dynamics.

MASK No. 1 updates a franchise that I fondly remember from my days as a wee one but I am not overwhelmed with nostalgia.

Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur No. 11 confirms Kid Kree’s true feelings for Moon Girl.

Ms. Marvel No. 11 gives another reason for why the Inhuman town crier is a menace and makes me wonder how will Ms.Marvel cope with this loss.

New Avengers No. 16 gives us an inkling of Billy’s true power and drives

Nighthawk No. 5 amazes me that Marvel is actually addressing these relevant social issues with the Revelator storyline without backtracking.

Nova No. 11 reveals what happened to Rich Rider and the World Mind.

Rocket Racoon and Groot No. 10 presented us with a more enjoyable version of Gwen Pool IMO

Spider-Gwen No. 12 illustrates the profound love that Captain Stacy has for Gwen.

Spider-Man Deadpool No. 9 introduces Itsy Spider, the “daughter” of Wade & Peter.

Spider-Woman No. 11 shows the impact of Civil War II on Carol & Jessica’s friendship.

Star Wars No. 23 finally puts Luke on a collision course with the elite Stormtroopers.

Suicide Squad No. 3 gives us Zod vs the squad.

Teen Titans Rebirth No. 1 just certifies Young Master Wayne as a control freak.

The Flash No. 7 reveals the motivation of Godspeed and the mechanics of speed transfer.

The Totally Awesome Hulk No. 10 shows that T’Challa builds a better Hulkbuster than Stark himself.

The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl No. 12 had a nice iconic homage courtesy of Brain Drain.  Enigmo is interesting despite such a derivative power.

Thunderbolts No. 5 shows us how far Bucky is willing to go to protect his friend.

Titans No. 3 continues to make a former Mort of the Month a legitimate and scary threat.

Ultimates No. 11 bores me a bit with Thanos as the focus villain.

Web Warriors No. 11 defeated a villain that threatened the multiverse with punk rock and confirms Spider-Ben as the definition of a hero.

Wonder Woman No. 7 explained the new origins of Cheetah and made it a legacy.

Nah, Just Nah:

Nothing was that horrid this week.
