The Prescriptions for 8/31/16

EastOfWest_29-1

Pick of the Week:

All-New Wolverine Annual No. 1 addressed Wolverine’s murder of Hornet and the impact it had on his family.  The Wolverine version of Spider-Ham was hilarious.

East of West No. 29 reunited father and son as well as give some clues to the history of that world.  It looks like all of the pieces are in place for the ending.

Ms. Marvel No. 10 showed us how Kamala is coping with the Civil War and her place on Danver’s faction.  It also seems like the cadet leader has some nefarious plans.

Spider-Man No. 7 showed us how Miles is coping with the Civil War II mess and confirms who exactly the investigator is.  It had the return of Bombshell.

Spider-Man 2099 N0. 14 gave us the return of Ghost Rider 2099, Hulk 2099, X-Men 2099 & Submariner 2099.  The 2099 fanboy in me was excited!

Worth the read:

Amazing Spider-Man No. 17 killed then resurrected Prowler.

Carnage No. 11 place Kletus is a precarious situation and makes me unsure of his strength level since he gave the heroes so much trouble yet was taken down so fast.

Civil War II – Choosing Sides No. 5 gave an unexpected reveal in the Nick Fury segment.

Deadpool v Gambit No. 4 reveals how Remy and Wade got into their predicament.

Guardians of the Galaxy No. 11 showed us how the Guardians got involved in this mess and specifically joined Carol’s faction.

Future Quest No. 4 finally showed Mightor and I loved it!

Han Solo No. 3 gave us a spaceship race and space tiger alien.

Howard the Duck No. 10 handled Mojo pretty well and makes me wonder what they could do with a Longshot series.

Thunderbolts No. 4 still feels like a 90’s Image book.

Tokyo Ghost No. 10 gave a finale to a promising concept but iffy executed story.

Uncanny Avengers No. 13 sets up an A vs X rematch between Cap & Cable.

X-Men ’92 No. 6 had Agent Brand, Death’s Head, and Dead Girl as a member of Generation X. Part of me wishes that cartoon was still on the air.

Nah, Just Nah:

Nothing was that horrid this week.
