The Doktor’s Prescription of 6/15/16

Descender_12-1

Picks of the Week:

Nothing blew me away this week, they weren’t horrid by any means.

Worth the read:

All-New Inhumans No. 8 seemed a bit rushed but I am curious to see how it plays out for Kraven’s daughter.

Amazing Spider-Man No. 14 showcased a character from Secret Wars that I didn’t care for. Harry proves to be a resourceful bugger.

Batman No. 1 felt like a teaser, it was good then abruptly ends at the peak of excitement.

Black Widow No. 4 makes me wonder what the future holds for Natasha in light of her recent “wins”.

BPRD – Hell on Earth No. 42 shows us that Ashley Strode is a very capable agent.

Civil War II – X-Men No. 1 irks me with this forced Inhuman-Mutant beef.

Civil War II No. 2 demonstrated Tony being an emotional bonehead and doing drastic things again.

Deadpool No. 14 is essentially Civil War II No. 1 the Deadpool Remix.

Descender No. 12 showed us how that Tim Unit became a creepy & murderous little twerp.

Green Arrow No. 1 made somewhat invested in Ollie.

Green Lanterns No. 1 makes me wonder how this new ability will play out.

Han Solo No. 1 loved how Chewbacca got some shine and had allies/connections outside of Han.

I Hate Fairyland No. 6 seems to be a perfect vehicle for Adult Swim.

International Iron Man No. 4 is a slow burn that’s probably more enjoyable in a trade format.

Justice League No. 51 had me at Schrodinger Hounds!

Lazarus No. 22 continues to have that epic video game in a comic format vibe.

New Suicide Squad No. 21 dug how Wildstorm characters were seamlessly inserted into DCU.

Nova No. 8 has the best version of Sam. He’s downright Cousin Oliver annoying in other books.

Scooby Apocalypse No. 2 makes me wonder if Wacky Raceland & Scooby Apocalypse take place in the same world.

Spider-Gwen No. 9 added another wrinkle to Gwen’s already chaotic life.

Spidey No. 7 showed us that young Pete has a potty mouth

Squadron Supreme No. 8 presented an unexpected Inhuman twist.

Star Wars No. 20 is another tale of middle-aged Obi-Wan & he proves why he’s a top Jedi.

Superman No. 1 makes me wonder if the neighbor girl will be Chris Kent’s Lana Lang.

The Astonishing Ant-Man No. 9 is one of the rare and consistently good books produced by the big two.  Dug how his employees, exes, and lackey all got together to help him save Cassie.

The Dark Knight Returns – The Last Crusade No. 1

Titans – Rebirth No. 1 brought back my second favorite Titan team.

TMNT No. 59 has kept the fire of turtle power going. Don’t think many TMNT runs featured the turtles leading the Foot Clan outside of the Image run.  Hoping that the ending was a red herring.

Uncanny Inhumans No. 10 showed us what time manipulation looks like when it’s actually interesting.

Uncanny X-Men No. 8 finally reveals what is up with Warren and Fantomex’s place in all of this madness.

Vote Loki No. 1 makes me wonder if Loki’s candidacy is a parody of Trump’s own candidacy.

Nah, Just Nah:

Guardians of Infinity No, 7, Patsy Walker A.K.A Hellcat No. 7, and Poison Ivy – Cycle of Life and Death No. 6 were meh IMO
