Pick of the Week – Autumnland No. 8
What I dug: The relationship and friendship between Learoyd and Dusty felt so real and organic. The warmth almost radiated from the pages.  The mechanical insect design reminded me of Mechanocles minions from the Aladdin series.
What I don’t fancy: Not a thing!
Buy or Nah: BUY IT NOW!!! Get a print, digital copy! Just get it!

Pick of the Week – Dragon Age Mage Killer No. 1
What I dug: Marius reminded me of Bruce Wayne/Frank Castle in the sense that his past trauma motivates his present day actions. The tactics that Marius utilized to take out magic users were unique and interesting. Rucka excels at writing these noble broken characters.
What I don’t fancy: Nada!
Buy or Nah: BUY IT NOW!

Pick of the Week – Justice League No. 46
What I dug: The Francis Manapul art is the main draw, I particularly enjoyed his rendition of Fourth World Characters and the empowered League members.
What I don’t fancy: Waiting a year and change for the animated movie version of this story…
Buy or Nah: BUY IT NOW!

Pick of the Week – Weirdworld No. 1
What I dug: Becca and Goleta have that weird buddy flick vibe that Drax and Cammi had in their miniseries.  I am glad that Del Mundo is still on as the artist because he certainly did his thing on the Goleta and her rise design.
What I don’t fancy: Nada!
Buy or Nah: BUY IT NOW!

All New Inhumans No. 2
What I dug: Crystal displaying a rare intelligence and sense of caution that most heroes don’t display when dealing with despot and antagonistic regimes.

Amazing Spider-Man No. 1.1
What I dug: The Simone Bianchi art is main appeal.
What I don’t fancy: Bianchi’s art feels like a mismatch for Spider-Man!
Buy or Nah: On the fence!

Darth Vader Annual No. 1
What I dug: The illustration of the calculating, ruthless and relentless Vader erased the taint of his prequel appearances.
What I don’t fancy: Nada!
Buy or Nah: Buy it!

Deadpool No. 3
What I dug: The introduction of the Massacre was refreshing and I got an opportunity to brush up on Spanish.
What I don’t fancy: Part of me feels that Rafael Grampa would be perfect on the Massacre design!
Buy or Nah: Buy it!

Descender No. 8
What I dug: The filling in the blanks on how Tim ended up by himself and how he first met Andy reminded me of AI. I also enjoyed the art!
What I don’t fancy: Nada!

Huck No. 2
What I dug: How Huck stayed true to himself and didn’t let fame interfere with his purpose.  I found the introduction of a potential foil and family for Huck intriguing.
What I don’t fancy: My own fear that the over-the-top Millar will surface!
Buy or Nah: Buy it!

Illuminati No. 2
What I dug: The explanation behind why Black Ant is a part of the Hood’s group and how the LMD has the same jerk tendency as the original O’Grady.  I found the Thinker hilarious and felt that he stole the show.
What I don’t fancy: The art feels a bit stylized for the story!
Buy or Nah: Buy it!

Kanan No. 9
What I dug: The relationship that young Kanan had with the clones explains the hurt and bitterness that has been demonstrated in the Rebels series..
What I don’t fancy: Nada!

Silk No. 2
What I dug: Seeing Cindy juggling her civilian life and her costumed life with as much success as classic Peter Parker.
What I don’t fancy: Nada!

Squadron Supreme No. 1
What I dug: The team channeled some of Ellis Authority run and they took out a “hero” with more face-heel turns than any WWE superstar. Also glad to see Jerk Aquaman face karma.
What I don’t fancy: Nada!
Buy or Nah: Buy it!

Starbrand and Nightmask No. 1
What I dug: It is interesting to see young heroes put education before joining a premier super team and fighting crime.
What I don’t fancy: Starbrand and Nightmask seem to powerful for the hasbeen villains that they are facing!

What I dug: The art.
What I don’t fancy: Part of me is sick of time skip and retired hero stories!

What I don’t fancy: Nada!
Buy or Nah: Buy it!

The Mighty Thor No. 2
What I dug: How formidable the Thunder Guard were and held their own against Thor.  The interaction between Loki and his father illustrated his growth as a character.  As always, Russell Dauterman’s art shined greatly.
What I don’t fancy: Nada!
Buy or Nah: Buy it!

The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl No. 3
What I dug: The past version of Doom and his interaction with everyone was comedic gold! It was nice to see Jubilee return from limbo!
What I don’t fancy: Confused about Jubilee’s status, thought Blade was the only Day Walker!
Buy or Nah: Buy it!

Tokyo Ghost No. 4
What I dug: Teddy dealing with the consequences of his past actions was karmic.  The action sequences reminded me of panels from Blades of the Immortal.
What I don’t fancy: Nada!
Buy or Nah: Buy it!

Ultimate End No. 5
What I dug: Miles Morales, he stole the show and was the star of the show.
What I don’t fancy: The panels felt cluttered!
Buy or Nah: Buy it!

Uncanny Inhumans No. 3
What I dug: The conclusion was expected but the weight of their decision was tangible. Kudos to the artist for conveying their emotions do masterfully.
What I don’t fancy: Seems like Ahura followed the path of Kang’s other charges! That is another gripe I have with Kang, for a time traveler he sure makes the same blasted mistakes.
Buy or Nah: Buy it!

Web Warriors No. 2
What I dug: Eh.
What I don’t fancy: The Electro variants were bland IMO!
Buy or Nah: On the fence, but leaning towards the NAH!
