Pick of the Week – Groot No. 6
What I dug: Groot not only had a conversation, he had one that the reader could understand! Teen Jean actually did something helpful with her powers. I never got a sense of Groot’s origins before reading this issue.

Pick of the Week – Darth Vader No. 13
What I dug: This issue illustrates why Vader is a fearsome figure. He faced a seemingly impossible obstacle in the Rebel army and overcame it.
What I don’t fancy: Not a thing!

Pick of the Week – Chewbacca No. 4
What I dug: Chewie thriving so well out of Solo’s shadow. This issue demonstrated his creativity and his improvisational skills.

Pick of the Week – All New Wolverine No. 2
What I dug: Laura’s clones, Gabby, Zelda, and Bellona, are visually interesting thanks to Lopez’s designs. I dug how Laura isn’t going the easy path and eliminating her clones, she is trying to understand and find out why.
What I don’t fancy: How the clones were fridged.

What I dug: Reminded me of a mix of Devil May Cry and god of war!
What I don’t fancy: Reminded me of a mix of Devil May Cry and god of war!

What I dug: The return of Man-Wolf!
What I don’t fancy: I want more! It felt like I was just getting started with a feast.

What I dug: The last Accuser is an interesting character.
What I don’t fancy: I am surprised that the universal translator cannot comprehend Kree!

What I dug: Lunetta!

What I dug: Waid is a master of writing an entertaining self-contained contained story. Part of me wishes that he wrote for the TV series.
What I don’t fancy: Nada

What I dug: The premise is interesting and it’s nice to see Silk do her own thing much like Kaine did in his recent solo series!
What I don’t fancy: They revealed the secret way too early! I am tired of the goblins and their king.

What I dug: Art by Mike Allred
What I don’t fancy: I think he patrols the interwebs so I will remain silent.

The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl No. 2
What I dug: The mastermind behind Squirrel Girl’s predicament was unexpected yet made sense. Her ideas about Tony forsaking his body and only preserving his brain is a brilliant one.
What I don’t fancy: Nada!

Venom – Space Knight No. 1
What I dug: Flash has grown so much over the years and he’s now a Space Knight. Who could see Peter Parker’s tormentor becoming a superhero let alone one in space!
