Pick of the Week – Chewbacca No. 2
What I dug: The glimpses into Chewie’s past gave him some depth. It’s also refreshing to see him without Han.
What I don’t fancy: Noto is an amazing artist but I feel like Bachalos would have been a better fit for a Chewie story.
Buy or Nah: BUY IT NOW!!!
Pick of the Week – Captain America – Sam Wilson No. 2
What I dug: Sam calling Hill out on SHIELD shady business as well as doing what he thought was right! Misty Knight is a nice foil for Sam.
What I don’t fancy: Not a thing!
Buy or Nah: BUY IT NOW!!!
Angela – Queen of Hel No. 1
What I dug: The art.
What I don’t fancy: Don’t think I am the target audience for this book.
Buy or Nah: Buy, if you collected the previous Angela series!
Deadpool vs Thanos No. 4
What I dug: I want a Deadpool Captain Universe figure! It was a fitting end to the series. It illustrates how the mad Titan’s self-esteem issues continue to be his greatest enemy.
What I don’t fancy: Nothing stood out.
Buy or Nah: Buy it!
House of M No. 4
What I dug: This issue illustrated how strong willed and persistent Magneto is. I am surprised about Pietro’s fate considering his tumultuous history with his father.
What I don’t fancy: The ending felt a bit rushed! It’s a bit odd that Magneto’s lackey didn’t recognize him while he was depowered.
Buy or Nah: Buy!
Howling Commandos of SHIELD No. 1
What I dug: I forgot about Warwolf until I saw him in this issue. The fact they have a zombie a rocket launcher, hasn’t anyone in SHIELD watched a zombie movie.
What I don’t fancy: Not sure how Hit Monkey is a monster? Wouldn’t he be better off with the Pet Avengers? How did Man-Thing revert back to his original state after having so much growth in Jeff Parker’s Thunderbolts.
Buy or Nah: Buy!
Kanan No. 7
What I dug: As a fan of Star Wars Rebels, I am enjoying the exploration of Kanan’s past. Master Billaba is an interesting Jedi Knight, not a stick-in-the-mud like most of her peers.
What I don’t fancy: Nada!
Buy or Nah: Buy!
New Avengers No. 2
What I dug: The concept is compelling and appealing. The Maker’s plans are far removed from the typical villain motive. I enjoy seeing Bobby in a leadership role.
What I don’t fancy: The art is a tad over the top and takes away from the impact!
Buy or Nah: Buy!
Spider-Man 2099 No. 2
What I dug: The idea that someone taught Doom all he knew about robotics.
What I don’t fancy: Miguel reminds me of Kaine with his whole revenge motivation and willingness to shed blood!
Buy or Nah: On the fence!
The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl No. 1
What I dug: Doreen reminds me of a shonen hero with the way she interacted with her enemy. She was willing to give him a chance and believe in him. Outside of All Star Superman and mangas, I don’t see that often. The cast and their interaction were delightful.
What I don’t fancy: Nada!

What If Infinity – Dark Reign No. 1
What I dug: The interaction between Norman and his father have some depth to his character.
What I don’t fancy: Tired of Norman Osbourne and Dark Reign
Buy or Nah: On the fence!
Where Monsters Dwell No. 5
What I dug: The art was the main appeal.
What I don’t fancy: The main characters are horrible people and it’s difficult to care about them IMO
Buy or Nah: HELL NAH!
