It’s Goblin vs Goblin in Superior Spider-Man #26. Hobgoblin against the Green Goblin for control of New York’s underground. Meanwhile, Spider-Man and The Avengers have a heart-to-heart conversation, and we learn more about Peter Parker’s whereabouts.
What I Liked
The battle between Green Goblin and Hobgoblin. Instead of a straight-up gang battle, we get something slightly different. I thought this was the beginning of “Goblin Nation” but it appears that starts next issue. With that in mind, I don’t mind the multiple artists. Each one illustrated a different portion of the story (Ramos on the Goblins, Rodriguez and Martin splitting the Peter Parker/Spider-Man and Avengers).
What I Didn’t Like
With the Avengers being so skeptical of Spider-Man, you’d think they would go through more lengths to find out what his deal is. The Avengers have been sitting back being spectators.
Summary
Before reading Superior Spider-Man #26 make sure to read Superior Spider-Man Team-Up #9. It plays a key factor in the build-up to “Goblin Nation” and starts to answer important questions.
As for Superior Spider-Man #26, chess pieces are shuffled across the board. The final end game is being prepped.
