The Issue: The Harbinger Wars come to their conclusion in the pages of Bloodshot. The action picks up right after the last issue as Bloodshot, Kara and the psiot children are headed to Las Vegas! But the trip isn’t for rest, relaxation, and debauchery but instead for a face-off of the ages.

When Bloodshot gets to Las Vegas the battle, as shown in Harbinger #13, ensues. The battle between Bloodshot and Peter Stanchek and his Renegades is one of misunderstanding. Both feel they are attempting to help the children and see the other side the real threat. The two sides throw everything they have at each other. As they all combatants are injured, Toyo Harada swoops in and takes the children and Bloodshot back to the Harbinger Foundation.

What I Liked: What makes Bloodshot an intriguing character is the fact that he is still trying to get a grasp of who he is. His entire life has been a lie. This has taken a backseat to the entire Harbinger War saga, but now there are signs that it is coming back.  While it is good to see a comic about a creature that was created to kill, but there’s no drama. So this is a good thing.

Also the encounter with Toyo Harada was much different. Where the first time he got the best of him, this time he is in a weakened state. It also sets up for a new status quo in the series.

What I Didn’t Like: The way the book opened we were lead to believe that it was Bloodshot who was in the hospital bed. It wasn’t until flipping back after seeing Bloodshot in real time that I realized that it wasn’t him. It was confusing especially when later you see that Bloodshot has the same exact injuries.

It’s obvious that this injured soldier will be important to his story, but there wasn’t enough to establish it before hand. Also the fact that Bloodshot would bury money out in the middle of the desert seems a bit strange. What use was money for him when everything he did was taken care of?

Grade:

3 out of 5 villains

Just a guy who was into this nerd stuff before it's popular. Now that is I'm just happy I have people to talk about it with.
