Entourage Season 8 Ep 7 Review

At last we finally got a killer episode out of this final season.  And it all centered around the Eric/Sloan/Melinda/Johnny Galecki love-square.  In the history of Entourage Eric has had the most compelling relationships.  Sure Vince gets to hook up with star-quality women, but E’s resume isn’t too shabby either.

Vince is putting together a video to give to Sophia chronicling his past relationships.  Why Vince is putting all this effort into a woman he hardly knows is baffling.  Part of it can probably be contributed to being newly sober.  Some recovering addicts give all their attention to something or someone.    The more they obsess, the less likely they are to relapse.  It just doesn’t seem believable for the Vince we’ve known for the past seven seasons.

Ari is out trying to find a studio for Vince and Drama’s movie idea.  Everyone seems to love the movie, but no one can see Drama being casted in it.  Turtle is calling all his celebrity friends to gather funding for his restaurant idea.  Mark Texeria, Amar’e Stoudamire, Michael Strahan, and Alex Rodriguez.  While on his search he spots Sloan and Galecki out together, so he reports back to Eric.  Eric just happens to be with Melinda, Sloan’s ex-mother-in-law.  Eric wants to kill Galecki for eyeing his fair Sloan.  And this turns Melinda on, which immediately turns me on.

Ari and Vince confront Phil over Drama’s movie.  Phil is butt-hurt over Drama walking out on Johnny’s Bananas.  Vince makes a power play and pays Phil $100,000 to have Drama’s movie made with him in it. Vince is balling like a straight boss right now.  Making things happen.

Eric and Melinda bust in on Sloan and Galecki’s lunch date.  Eric’s so hyped up he can’t sit still.  I love watching the witty back-and-forth conversations when people start arguing on this show.  Everything is fast paced, especially when they’re walking and the camera has to follow them around.

Ari and Dana Gordon come to a mutual breakup.  Dana knows that Ari is still in love with Mrs. Ari and even though it breaks her heart, she knows it’s for the best.  They even remain friends.  It was good to see Ari and Dana get together, even if it wasn’t permanent.

Turtle finds out that his tequila company went public.  This would be great news, if he hadn’t of sold his stock.  Even though he’s bummed out he still puts in good words for Vince with Sophia.  Once again another example of how the boys truly watch each other’s backs.  Another great example is the surprise Vince unloads on us.  Turtle is apologizing for talking Vince into selling their shares of Avion, but Vince reveals that he didn’t listen to Turtle.  Instead of selling, he even bought Turtle’s shares.  So this makes Turtle a millionaire!  Of all the people to end up rich on this show, Turtle would be low on everyone’s guesses.  Still happy for him, and again Vince is working everyone like some puppet master.

The final shocker is we find out Sloan’s pregnant and is moving to New York.  This is what I’m looking for out of Entourage.  Surprises, drama, and items that make me anticipate next week’s episode.  Oh yeah, next week is also the series finale.  In case you hadn’t heard.
