Entourage Season 8 Premiere

There are many television shows that my older brother, and fellow KLIQ Nation founder Adam Black has put me onto over the years.  One of the very first, Entourage, debuted its first episode of season 8.  This will also be the final season for Entourage, with a rumored movie in the works to follow.

Though not every season has lived up to expectations, I still own every season on DVD except for the last two, which I will eventually own sometime in the future.  Entourage is the perfect “Guys’ Show”.  We all have our core group of boys that we do everything with, from talking trash to partying to chasing women. The boys of Entourage are the same, except we get to watch them do this in the backdrop of Hollywood.

The show started off with a recap from last season, from Vince getting into an accident on set of his new movie, which lead to his drug addiction and dating a porn star, to Johnny Drama being cast in a cartoon called “Johnny’s Bananas”, to Turtle’s tequila venture with the hot Dania Ramirez, and Mr. and Mrs. Ari Gold taking time apart.

Highlights of the show for me:

– Somehow I forgot that Eric had a hot assistant.  I guess I shouldn’t be surprised at this fact, it is Entourage after-all.

– Learning that Eric and Sloan are no longer together.  There was a reference to a pre-nup, but I don’t remember if Eric asked for one or if Sloan did.   Either way this was just the beginning of Eric’s bad day.

– The mob of people waiting outside the rehab facility for Vincent Chase to be released.  It’s hard to remember that Vince is the movie star of the show, when the last few seasons have dealt more with the lives of his actual entourage.

– Vince coming up with the idea of a movie based off the Chilean Miners while in rehab.  Everyone hates it but no one has the guts to break it to Vince and breaking his fragile ego.

– Drama being overly obsessive (typical Drama) about ridding the house of drugs and any drug-like substances.  Drama is the typical older brother, willing to do ANY and EVERYTHING to protect his baby bro.

– Sloan emailing Eric’s engagement ring back to him….in a “non-padded envelope” to quote Turtle.  E must have really messed up to have her calling his office demanding he pack his stuff up out of her place, and then mailing the ring back.  The hits just keep coming for E.

– Ari finding out Mrs. Ari Gold is seeing someone.  For once he’s a lost for words.  He even resorts to looking for alcohol, which he says he never drinks.  Too bad he can only find fake vodka.

– E losing it at Vince’s “Welcome Home” party and attempting to leave Sloan voicemails, to no avail.  I can’t remember seeing E so rattled.

– Last but not least, the closing music to the episode was Eminem’s Till I Collapse.  Entourage has the best closing credits score of any show I can think of.  And it’s not even close.

So what were your thoughts on tonight’s Entourage?  I’d love to hear your theories on how this final season will play out after getting episode one out of the way.
