Marvel Legacy Cover Teases the Death of The Mighty Thor

Marvel Comics has spent the day sharing animated GIFs honoring classic covers from the past. These covers have appeared on various comic book websites, and the publisher has shared a group of new covers with The KLIQ Nation. The most revealing cover includes the potential death of the Mighty Thor.

The cover in question is for one of our favorite titles, The Mighty Thor, and teases a possible deadly outcome for Jane Foster. The classic cover is from The Death of Captain Marvel graphic novel, which shows Captain Marvel in the arms of Death himself. Thor mimics this same image as she’s surrounded by her allies. The creative team credited for “The Death of The Mighty Thor” is the book’s current creators — writer Jason Aaron and artists Russell Dauterman and Matt Wilson.

Other animated covers include “The Legacy of Ms. Marvel” by Jake Wyatt, Sam Wilson returning to his former role as Falcon, by Elizabeth Torque, Spider-Man behind bars in Peter Parker: The Spectacular Spider-Man by Paulo Siqueira, Old Man Logan in Weapon X by Val Staples, and the return of Marvel Two-in-One starring the Thing by Edgar Delgado.

Below is the official press release, followed by the animated GIF of all six Marvel Legacy covers.
