Pick of the Week:

Motorcrush No. 1 feels like Akira (the Street Gang aspect) mixed with all of those iconic racing animes.  It has the fast paced adrenaline rush of the Fast & the Furious with a dash of Biker Boyz.  It seems like it would seamlessly transition to cable or film.

Unworthy Thor No. 2 feels like an epic poem with the Odinson taking on hordes of enemies to claim a prized weapon.  I am curious about Old Man Fury’s motive in telling the Odinson about the other Mjolnir and recruiting Thanos.  I am also curious about why the Collector ultimately wants Mjolnir and what happened to Beta Ray Bill?

Worth the read:

All New Wolverine No. 15 made me wonder why someone would try to sneak human trafficking under the nose of someone with enhanced senses.

Black Science No. 26 feels like the last season of Sliders where things were centered on one world instead of traveling the multiverse.

Aquaman No. 12 is funny to me how superheroes are used to framing/evil clones/alternate reality duplicates are unwilling to give their comrades the benefit of the doubt when odd things happen.

Arclight No. 3 fleshes out the world more and the threat created by the alien body thief.

Avengers No. 2 made me appreciate Hercules even more.  It also surprises me how incapable/incompetent aged versions of Kangs are when they are facing the current warlike versions of himself? Don’t understand why Vision would make such a Hank McCoy move and jeopardize everything for his vendetta.

Batman No. 12 is an excellent wrinkle to Batman’s lore.  It gives the reader a deeper understanding of why Bruce does what he does despite the insanity of it all.

Champion No. 3 surprised me that these young heroes dared to do what their adult counterparts failed to do.  They addressed a pressing real world issues that most ignore in favor of punching Red Skull/Green Goblin/etc.

Cyborg No. 6 introduced Variant who I hope to be a fixture in Cyborg lore.

Deadman – Dark Mansion of Forbidden Love No. 2 reminded me of the classic Dark Shadows and those 70’s haunting films.

Deadpool No. 23 shows us what lengths Wade is willing to go to save his loved ones.  I am surprised to see Stryfe back but then again Time Travelers are hard to kill or stay dead.

Death of Hawkman No. 3 feels like a buddy cop film almost like a capes version of Lethal Weapon. I am surprised to see Despero again.

Green Arrow No. 12 was interesting to see the leftist political element in this comic especially in this political climate.

Green Lantern No. 12 is funny to see a villain who is that powerful still play second fiddle & be a lackey for another.

Justice League No. 10 gave us the return of Amazo and made me wonder how it will function within the Rebirth Universe.

Midnighter & Apollo No. 3 presented a Neron that reminded me of the Lord of Darkness from Legend. He’s not mustache twisting evil or evil for the sake of evil.  He’s a charming, eloquent, and subtle corruption that erodes a person’s virtue & resistance.  He’s like the surgical laser of supernatural evil.

Moon Knight No. 9 is a very trippy yet entertaining ride.

Nova No. 1 was interesting to see the teenage aspect of Sam’s life, like asking out a love interest, juggling responsibilities while still a kid, etc.  I am abit disappointed that Rider didn’t escape the Cancerverse without being tainted.

Nightwing No. 10 surprisingly made me like the current Robin more.  It’s funny how commonplace (and almost normal) talking primate criminals are in the DC universe.

Star Wars – Doctor Aphra No. 1 returned the darkly humorous droid duo. I hope that they make a debut on the small or big screen at some point in the future. It made sense that her father is some sort of law & order person with a strong moral code. I enjoyed the glimpse of her early days and what led to who she became later in life.

Superman No. 12 delighted me! I loved how Lois took control of the situation and did a better job than her husband with dealing with Frankenstein’s Monster.

The Clone Conspiracy No. 3 surprised me with the big reveal. It makes sense on one level but it is a bit odd that Peter didn’t recognize him earlier or at all.  I am also curious about what happened to the original Miles Warren?

Nah, Just Nah:

Shade the Changing Girl No. 3, Spider-Man 2099 No. 18, Scarlet Witch No. 3, Island No. 13, Revival No. 45, & Unfollow No. 14 were boring as hell.
