Rumble_13-1

Pick of the Week:

Black Widow No. 6 reveals the identity of the Weeping Lion and illustrates how crafty and in control Natasha Romanov is.

Descender No. 14 reveals Bandit’s past and what occurred prior to the start of the series.

Mighty Thor No. 10 threw me off with the ending.  I wonder if Loki is somehow involved.  I am surprised on some level yet not surprised that Ms. Midas has equipment to hurt immortals.  I found it cool that Roxxon has its own version of Bannermen.

Rumble No. 13 put in a weird place to pitying a hydra again and saddened that she doesn’t recognize her master.

Supergirl – Rebirth No. 1 present a funny tale about a werewolf from Krypton.  It also made me wonder if Red Kryptonite would have similar effect on other Kryptonians.  Overall it is a fun tale not burdened down with the Nu52 angst.

The Fallen No. 1 reintroduces Skaar and shows how Bruce’s loved ones are dealing with his loss.  I am glad that Bruce was able to 1-up the mustache bros (Tony Stark and Dr. Strange).

Uncanny Avengers No. 12 added an interesting element to Ultron’s relationship with the Avengers.  In some odd way, similar to why the Joker doesn’t kill Batman, Ultron needs them alive to give meaning to his existence.

The Ultimates No. 10 returned the America that I am used to. Illustrates that even this team is immune to company-wide mega events.  I am personally tired of Thanos after his recent mega event.

Worth the read:

A-Force No. 8 seems to lock Nico is some escapable trouble.  It reminds me of Greek myths in the sense that trying to escape “destiny” causes the tragedy to occur.

All New Inhumans No. 10 makes curious about what Ana will become.

All New Wolverine No. 11 irked me that an endearing character was fridged out to add drama for a mega event.

Aquaman No. 5 irked me with the ending.

Batgirl & the Birds of Prey No. 1 made me chuckle that Dick is the link between Helena and Babs.

Batman No. 5 reveals the origins of Gotham and Gotham Girl.  It also made me wonder why people still live in this cursed city.  The Bat Family, police, etc doesn’t do diddly to discourage crime.

Captain America – Sam Wilson No. 12 reminds me why U.S. Agent was least favorite Cap pastiche.

Civil War II – Amazing Spider-Man No. 3 strengthens that inescapable destiny vibe.

Civil War II – Choosing Sides No. 4 prevents a pulse pounding Punisher tale and continue the thrilling Fury Jr. tale

Cry Havoc Vol. 1 presents an interesting premise similar to the Dog Soldiers movie with the government turning creatures of legend into weapons.  The execution has a few hiccups and has a SyFy Saturday Night Creature Feature vibe.

Green Arrow No. 5 had an unexpected hilarious and ironic ending.

Green Lanterns No. 5 didn’t have enough the Red Lantern’s murderous mascot kitty.

Harley Quinn No. 2 has zombies and Harley… nuff sed!

Horizon No. 2 introduced new cast members and add an interesting wrinkle to the overall plot.

I hate Fairyland No. 8 had an entertainment video game segment!

Justice League No. 3 reminds me of the Authority arc where they met the creator of Earth.

Mockingbird No. 6 is a very wacky Venture Bros-esque spy tale.

Nightwing No. 3 cements Raptor as an ideal foil for Dick after Midnighter.

Poe Dameron No. 5 cements Terrex’s place as an interesting and entertaining SW villain.

Power Man and Iron Fist No. 7 surprised that Danny is managing fairly well in prison.

Scooby Apocalypse No. 4 introduced Scrappy Doo and makes me wonder if Scooby’s “other family” will make an appearance.

Spider-Woman No. 10 adds a personal and refreshing element to Civil War II. Jessica’s anger felt so real and organic.

Superman No. 5 shows why you shouldn’t mess with Lois.

The Unbelievable Gwenpool No. 5 introduces Gwen’s wackiness into the Miles Morales’ life.

Web Warriors No. 10 has an Electro Entity wearing a Spider Mecha… nuff sed!

Nah, Just Nah:

Suicide Squad No. 1, Civil War II – Gods of War No. 3 & Civil War II – X-Men No. 3 were hella meh
