Birthright_18-1

Pick of the Week:

All-Star Batman No. 1 reminds us how dangerous and equally impressive Harvey Dent is.

Birthright No. 18 shows us how far the mages are willing to go to stop Mikey.  I am curious about the Nevermind’s connection to Mickey and what has changed in their dynamics now that everything is revealed.

Black Panther No. 5 illustrates that Wakandan perfection has flaws.

Darth Vader No. 24 shows us how far Vader is willing to go to accomplish his goals.  He reminds me of Scorpius from Farscape with this level of dedication.

Empress No. 5 highlights the defining qualities of her oldest kids and illustrates how fearsome the Emperor and his reputation are.

Superwoman No. 1 had an unexpected ending. Cripes! Didn’t see that coming at all.  Lex seems legitimately noble with his concerns.  It was nice to see the return and remix of Electrical Superm… Superwoman.

Vision No. 10 is such a deep, thoughtful, and painful issues.  Kudos to the creative team for making Vision relatable and feel more human.

Worth the read:

Action Comics No. 961 reminds me why Doomsday is good in small doses.

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. No. 8 is a mega event tie-in with an unexpected reveal.

All-New X-Men No. 12 revisits Laura and Kid Warren’s relationship.

All-New, All-Different Avengers No. 13 is a pale rendition of Vision when compared to the Vision solo.

All-New, All-Different Avengers Annual No. 1 is a light hearted and fun issue.

Amazing Spider-Man No. 16 makes me wonder why villains use revolutionary science breakthroughs for their petty ambitions.

Chronicle of Hate – Book 2 reminds me of Savage Sword of Conan meets Heavy Metal

Daredevil No. 10 reveals some of the history between Blindspot and DD.

Deadpool & The Mercs for Money No. 2 gives us more introspective sides of Wade.

Deathstroke – Rebirth No. 1 is a slow burn with enough excitement to keep me interested.

Hal Jordan and the Green Lantern Corps No. 2 was serviceable.

New Super-Man No. 2 continues to remind me of Mega Mind.

Old Man Logan No. 10 presents fairly interesting ninja foes and reveals Grandpa Logan’s history with them.

Red Hood and the Outlaws No. 1 presents an interesting and cunning Black Mask.

Ringside No. 6 is a slow burn and probably more enjoyable in trade format.

Scarlet Witch No. 9 present us with more sibling drama with the twins.

Spider-Man 2099 No. 13 reintroduces Ravage 2099, makes me if Ghost Rider 2099 or Hulk 2099 is far behind.

Suicide Squad Most Wanted – El Diablo and Boomerang No. 1 reminds me why I dislike Boomerang. Not sure how I feel about the religious angle for El Diablo.

The Accused No. 1 fleshes out Barton’s reason for killing Banner.

The Flash No. 4 presents an interesting concept with the Speed Force school.

The Flintstones No. 2 reminds me of an Adult Swim program with its twisted satire.

Wonder Woman No. 4 is another chapter in the remix of Diana’s origins.

Nah, Just Nah:

Nothing stinks this week
