Picks of the Week:

A-Force No. 5

Dazzler Thor like Spider-Gwen is derived from another character but she has a unique voice and a life of her own.  Her interaction with Dazzler was touching on some many levels.

All New Inhumans No. 7

The society felt like Wakanda remixed with the Inhumanity lore.  It made the title more appealing in my eyes.

Black Widow No. 3

Never really cared for Natasha that much outside of being an elite fighter and spy.  The creative team has made her more appealing in my eyes.  I can’t wait for the next issue!

Empress No. 2

This book is another example of NuMillar.  The cliffhanger is heart wrenching without being over-the-top.

IXTH Generation Vol 2

This is such an awesome remix of Top Cow mythos and it is weighed down by continuity.  The store, art, and spacing are top notch.

Midnighter No. 12

This first solid and balanced NuDC series that I have read.  I wished that this wasn’t the last issue.  I loved the homage to Millar’s Authority run at the end.

Poe Dameron No. 2

Agent Terex is an interesting and roguishly charming villain.  I am surprised most Star Wars villains lacked that seductive evil quality.

The Punisher No. 1

Kudos to the creative team because this is the first time I dug Frank Castle as a character.

Worth the Read:

Amazing Spider-Man No. 12 featured the return of Ghost but the heroes came off as too buffoonish.

Captain America – Sam Wilson No. 9 made me wonder how Hill made it through all her dirt without consequences.

Howard the Duck No. 7 was a fun and sweet romp.

Invincible Iron Man No. 9 was meh outside of Doom and “Iron Maiden”.

Moon Knight No. 2 continues the trippy cerebral journey started by Ellis.

New Avengers No. 11 was meh

Nova No. 7 seems to be painfully long with the missing dad angle.

Rocket Racoon & Groot No. 5 was

Scarlet Witch No. 6 made Wanda more appealing IMO.

Spider-Gwen No. 8 is one of the few times that a Marvel series has kept my interest.

Spider-Man 2099 No. 10 is the first time that I found this series interesting.

Uncanny X-Men No. 7 seems to be putting Archangel on the road to radioactive continuity like 90’s Hawkman.

X-men 92 No. 3 surprised me a bit with Storm Dracula history.

Nah, Just Nah:

Thunderbolts No. 1 & Renato Jones No. 1 reminded me the comic dark ages aka the needlessly gritty 90’s!

A married pleasantly plump collection of flesh, blood, bones, tears, & hope
