Pick of the Week – East of West No. 23
What I dug: The overall weird west vibe of the book that seamlessly combine supernatural and science fiction elements. Also seeing how the pieces all fit together perfectly and how unlikely characters are connected to each other. Never expected the young Wolf to have such a bishonen appearance.  Love the path that John Freeman’s story is taking and curious to see how it concludes.
What I don’t fancy: Not a thing!
Buy or Nah: BUY IT NOW!!! Get a print, digital copy! Just get it!

Pick of the Week – All New Wolverine No. 3
What I dug: The art superbly rendered by David Lopez. Each of Laura’s “sisters” has a unique look and style. Their getaway car resembled an economy class tumbler tank. I am relieved that the trio survived their encounter with Taskmaster and their non-lethal… err… non-fatal method of slowing them down. Part of me wouldn’t mind playing a Splinter Cell/Call of Duty style game featuring the trio.
What I don’t fancy: Nada!
Buy or Nah: BUY IT NOW!

Pick of the Week – Chewbacca No. 5
What I dug: Enjoyed seeing Chewie emerge from Han’s shadow and stand firmly on his own.  His mechanical prowess especially when dealing with droids is a sight to behold!
What I don’t fancy: That I may never see the dynamic duo of assassination on television or film.
Buy or Nah: BUY IT NOW!

Pick of the Week – Squadron Supreme No. 2
What I dug: Seeing each character during the respective “downtimes” and getting a deeper sense of their characters.  Their choice of base is so ingenious yet so obvious.  I am glad that this team doesn’t let cape politics interfere with proactively dealing with a threat. I also curious to see how they deal with characters like Magneto, Hulk, & Wolverine who are frequently brainwashed/mind controlled/switching sides and causing collateral damage.  Earth would be safer if they were all dead.
What I don’t fancy: Nada!
Buy or Nah: Buy it!

Captain America – Black and White No. 5
What I dug: Seeing the “innocent” pre-Winter Soldier remixing version of Bucky Barnes and pre-Original Sin version of Nick Fury was refreshing.
What I don’t fancy: The bright colors and the art style took away from the Red Skull. He came off as more campy than sinister.  Red Skull is a Nazi and the lowest form of human life and should always be portrayed as something truly detestable IMO.
Buy or Nah: Buy!

Carnage No. 3
What I dug: The return of Man Wolf and his slobber knocker with Carnage was enjoyable. I am partially surprised that Man Wolf was even able to hurt Cassady.  I am eager to see Brock enter the arena and see how he fares against Cassady.
What I don’t fancy: How quickly the battle ended… sigh… wanted more Man Wolf!
Buy or Nah: Buy!

Drax No. 2
What I dug: The enlightened Terrax is a nice change from his normal jobber/punch happy goon status. He rather enjoy life than engage in meaningless battle.
What I don’t fancy: Not sure I dig socially dimwitted Drax.
Buy or Nah: Buy!

Howling Commandos of S.H.I.E.L.D. No. 3
What I dug: Orrgo stole the show IMO. Also found the commando mummies/zombies interesting, they seemed more competent than SHIELD’s zombie.
What I don’t fancy: Not sure how a monkey assassin is a monster!
Buy or Nah: Buy it!

Lazarus No. 21
What I dug: The overall feel of the book. Visually and story wise it feels like a fleshed out Call of Duty/Metal Gear Solid/etc.
What I don’t fancy: Nada
Buy or Nah: Buy

Marvel’s Captain America Civil War Prelude No. 2
What I dug: Nada!
What I don’t fancy: Reading about something I already watched!
Buy or Nah: Nah!

Revival Vol. 6
What I dug: The unique spin on zombies and the nature of their immortality were refreshing. I also dug the origins of the weird energy alien beings.
What I don’t fancy: Nada!
Buy or Nah: Buy it!

Ringside No. 2
What I dug: The story feels like a remix of the Wrestler.
What I don’t fancy: Nada!
Buy or Nah: Buy it!

Savage Dragon No. 210
What I dug/What I don’t fancy: The over-the-top nature of story both helps and harms. It might be too much!
Buy or Nah: Buy it!
