Marvel Teases A New THUNDERBOLTS Series Following AVENGERS: STANDOFF

*UPDATE #2* We have confirmation that this is a new Thunderbolts #1 from Jim Zub and Jon Malin.

*UPDATE #1* We now have teaser #2, revealing two more members of what will more than likely become the all-new Thunderbolts.

I’d add more commentary, but Thunderbolts launched during the time I was away from comics. I know the general gist of the team (bad guys dressing up as new heroes), but that’s it.

Some have made the comparison to DC’s Suicide Squad and that may be accurate.

Could the Thunderbolts be making a return? After Avengers: Standoff concludes this spring, we could have the return of one of Marvel’s most controversial superteams.

“Injustice, Like Lightning” was emailed out from Marvel PR, along with the following image below. The “lightning” reference and group image leads many to believe that the Thunderbolts are returning. Could the reason for their return be tied to the fallout from Avengers: Standoff?

We’ll have to wait until this spring to see how it all plays out.
