“Justice League Action” Animated Series Coming To Cartoon Network

*Sigh*  I just can’t escape Cartoon Network.  I love watching cartoons based on my favorite superheroes.  Of course, those shows eventually end up on Cartoon Network.  It started with Justice League and Justice League Unlimited.  The good ol’ days.

Young Justice came along and changed everything for me.  Instead of focusing on the known quantities like Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman, Young Justice was all about the sidekicks making a name for themselves.  It was great!  And then it was cancelled.

Since then I’ve vowed to not watch Cartoon Network.  Yes, I know the cancellation came down from Warner Bros/DC Entertainment because Young Justice wasn’t selling enough merchandise.  Or the show was too different from the New 52 comic line.  I really didn’t care for the reasons.  I just knew that a show I loved was gone, and I was scorned.  It’s the reason I don’t watch Teen Titans Go!.

Today, DC Entertainment announced that a new animated series called Justice League Action will be debuting on Cartoon Network.  Similar to Teen Titans Go!Justice League Action will be 11 minute episodes, so two episodes in a 30 minute block.

Featuring the return of Kevin Conroy as Batman, the Dark Knight will join with Superman and Wonder Woman and the rest of DC’s iconic team of heroes in a series that promises to put the action back in heroics. Whether defending the Earth, facing invaders from space, or battling the bizarre forces of magic, the always-rotating team of Justice League heroes, are up to any challenge. Episodes will be eleven minutes in length, meaning that the action will be tightly-paced and exciting. And awesome!

I may have to finally go back on my Cartoon Network ban.  Even though Justice League Action won’t be as adult as Young Justice, it doesn’t mean it won’t be a high quality program.  And if kids like it, that’s all that counts right?

A date has not been announced for its premiere.
