Pick of the Week – East of West No. 22
What I dug: The bath time assassination attempt on Xiaolin and her proper dispatching of those hapless souls were E-P-I-C! The assassins, their base, and technology were visually interesting. I never expected so much action from Hickman!
What I don’t fancy: Not a thing!
Buy or Nah: BUY IT NOW!!!

Pick of the Week – IXTH Generation No. 7
What I dug: The remixing and amalgamation of the Top Cow line continues to be engaging. Every artifact is accounted for and properly handled.  Dug that idea that each artifact is tailored for a specific character.
What I don’t fancy: Nada!
Buy or Nah: BUY IT NOW!

Pick of the Week – Paper Girls No. 3
What I dug: A futuristic knight riding a pterodactyl, did you see that coming? I didn’t see that coming at all! As odd as that scene is, it works and fits in a strange way. The reveal about those strange ninja-garbed dudes was equally unexpected.
What I don’t fancy: The lack of an AMC adaptation based on this!
Buy or Nah: BUY IT NOW!

Black Science No. 18
What I dug: The retelling of Grant’s childhood through the puppet show was a brilliant touch and explained why Grant is this way.
What I don’t fancy: Nada!!!
Buy or Nah: Buy!

Citizen Jack No. 2
What I dug: The concept is interesting, Jack must be an important figure in the grand scheme for infernal forces to take interest in him.
What I don’t fancy: Wouldn’t mind seeing this done in a more serious manner!
Buy or Nah: Buy!

Plutona No. 3
What I dug: The interaction between the kids felt natural and organic. I don’t see anything good coming from Teddy’s plot.  His plot reminds me of the eucharist from Empire.
What I don’t fancy: Lack of a television adaptation!
Buy or Nah: Buy it!

Revival No. 35
What I dug: The revelation about the weird yellow alien thing and their connection to the remnants was unexpected and interesting.
What I don’t fancy: Nada!!!
Buy or Nah: Buy!

Savage Dragon No. 209
What I dug: Larson’s stylized art and Malcolm’s wedding
What I don’t fancy: The birth of Malcolm’s child!
Buy or Nah: On the fence!
