What I dug: The origin of this version of Daredevil is a refreshing remix. This iteration of Harry is more interesting than his 616 counterpart IMO.

What I dug: The illustration of how driven, crafty, and ruthless the Emperor is.

What I dug: Nate’s interaction with Wade and the Avengers squad felt organic. It also showed how well Nate and Wade know and understand each other.

What I dug: Kate’s potential greatness in the future made me want to see more tales of future Kate. Her interaction with America shows the depth of their friendship.

What I dug: The Parker Technology is the main appeal. Peter is no longer a one-note scientist, he’s creating more than variants of his webbing

What I dug: The Turtles dealing with Batman villains and Batman dealing with the Foot ninjas.
What I don’t fancy: Need more Bats and Ninjas!

What I dug: The explanation for how Dane got to his present situation!
What I don’t fancy: How this version of Weird World feels dull when compared to Secret Wars Weird World series.

What I dug: The weirdness and quirky nature of Wade’s world, it felt like Venture Bros.
What I don’t fancy: Slapstick

Guardians of the Galaxy No. 3
What I dug: The team dynamics, the Brood element and the introduction of a potential foil for Drax were the main draws.
What I don’t fancy: Not sure how Gamora is apparently her classic version yet she’s the most recent version in Contest of Champions

Gwenpool Special No. 1
What I dug: How Noh-Varr is the DJ of the superhero community, feels like a story can come out of him touring with Lila Cheney and being her official DJ.
What I don’t fancy: Not enough Gwenpool, it was more a She-Hulk story!

Hercules No. 2
What I dug: Hercules’ interaction with the mortals and his mythological enemies was the main draw.
What I don’t fancy: The story felt a bit boring.
Buy or Nah: On the fence, but the art merits a buy!
Marvel Universe Guardians of the Galaxy No. 3
What I dug: Rocket’s characterization was the main draw.
What I don’t fancy: didn’t enjoy reading something I watched!
Buy or Nah: No, just watch the episode!
Scarlet Witch No. 1
What I dug: The vibe of the book reminded me of Constantine.
What I don’t fancy: The confusion caused by the flip-flop over Wanda’s abilities, is she a reality warping mutant or a magic user!
Buy or Nah: Buy!
Secret Wars No. 8
What I dug: The epic scenes with Groot and the world tree, Doom’s dispatching of Thanos made the book IMO!
What I don’t fancy: How Doom’s happy moment is essentially having Reed’s life!

Spider-Man 2099 No. 4
What I dug: Captain America 2099 stole the book IMO.
What I don’t fancy: Miguel is a tad boring, so was the villain!
Buy or Nah: Buy!
Ultimates No. 2
What I dug: How the team succeeded where Reed Richards and others have failed. The completion of Galactus’ birth process was great and it felt like something meaningful occurred with the character.
What I don’t fancy: The lack of a redesign for Galactus. His transformation merited a redesign IMO!
