Pick of the Week – Star Wars No. 11
What I dug: The explanation behind Han’s marriage made sense.  The golden dork finally did something useful beside blabbing.  The cyborg beast that Luke battled was visually awesome.
What I don’t fancy: Nada!
Buy or Nah: BUY IT NOW!!!

Pick of the Week – Howard the Duck No. 1
What I dug: The character interaction was great. Dr. Strange was a gem in this issue.  The Gwenpool segment was entertaining!
What I don’t fancy: Not a thing!
Buy or Nah: BUY IT NOW!!!

Amazing Spider-Man No. 3
What I dug: The interaction between Peter and Johnny was great.
What I don’t fancy: No, new Parker Technology.
Buy or Nah: Buy!

Contest of Champions No. 2
What I dug: The return of Ares and Punisher 2099 was a pleasant surprise. The Maestro’s armor was interesting and I dug how he summon his trophy.
What I don’t fancy: Nothing stood out.
Buy or Nah: Buy it!

Deadpool No. 1
What I dug: Wade forming a team of Deadpool impersonators and calling them Heroes for Hire.  The characters that compose the squad were unexpected. Never thought that I would see Stingray.
What I don’t fancy: Nada!
Buy or Nah: Buy!

Doctor Strange No. 2
What I dug: I continue to dig this kooky iteration of Strange and the world he inhabits.  Wong is a pleasure as always.
What I don’t fancy: Nada!
Buy or Nah: Buy!

Drax No. 1
What I dug: Drax reminded me of Brock Samson with his single minded focus and his use of knives.
What I don’t fancy: Nada!
Buy or Nah: Buy!

Extraordinary X-Men No. 1
What I dug: The change in Piotr’s appearance was a nice touch.  The interaction between the Rasputin was enjoyable especially since it wasn’t spoiled by the previews.
What I don’t fancy: The previews and advanced art ruined any surprise present in the book. This issue was so spoiled that it almost renders a purchase useless.
Buy or Nah: Buy!

Hercules No. 1
What I dug: The idea that two ancient warriors are roommates in modern times is refreshing.  The ancient creatures trying to survive in modern times reminds me of ancients in the Buffyverse.  The art is fitting. Hercules’ weaponry room reminds me of Ares’ room in the miniseries penciled by Travel Foreman.
What I don’t fancy: Nada!
Buy or Nah: Buy!

Invincible Iron Man No. 3
What I dug: The interaction between Tony and Stephen was priceless.
What I don’t fancy: The lack of Doom!
Buy or Nah: Buy!

Nova No. 1
What I dug: The end page is enough to merit looking the second issue.
What I don’t fancy: Sam and his peers looked like middle schoolers instead of teenagers. Kudos to the artist for drawing believable kids but I was thrown off a bit.
Buy or Nah: On the fence!

Uncanny X-Men No. 600
What I dug: The art and reconciliation of the Rasputin siblings were enjoyable.
What I don’t fancy: The trial of Hank McCoy felt flat, I don’t think McCoy learned anything and he came across as irrational by passing the buck to Scott.  The Million Mutant March also felt meh.
Buy or Nah: On the fence!

Vision No. 1
What I dug: The last page was the payoff and illustrated that Vision’s best intentions will bite him.
What I don’t fancy: Thought it would make more sense for him to hook up with Jocasta or the High Evolutionary’s creation. I didn’t see the need for him to create a mate or offspring. I am also sick of the featured villain but I guess he beats Ultron.
Buy or Nah: On the fence!
