From Under Mountains – Review
|The review will be spoiler free.
From Under Mountains is created by Sloane Leong, Marian Churchland and Claire Gibson. The most profound things about the book IMO are the cast and the setting. Most times, when goblins are mentioned, it’s by European characters in a medieval/sword & sorcery setting. FUM cast is made up of people of color. The clothing design evoke an Arabic/Indo vibe and the architecture reminds me of Inca designs. This issue gives us a glimpse of the main characters, their world, and their motivation.
What I dug: The racially diverse cast, the architectural design & the Games of Thrones moment
What I don’t fancy: waiting for the next issues… 30 days is torture!
Buy it or Nah: BUY IT NOW! Especially if you are a fan of fantasy & yearned to see characters that resemble you!
