Marvel Teases Fall Mega-Event ‘This Is War!’

If you’re a comic book fan, you are already aware Marvel’s crossover event Avengers vs X-Men taking place.  It pits The Avengers and the X-Men against one another over the Phoenix Force, and Hope Summers.  I thought this was going to be Marvel’s big event for the year, since they want to claim that everything has been leading up to this one moment, dating all the way back to House of M.  Apparently, Marvel has more event tricks up their sleeves.

At Marvel’s website they are promoting a new event titled This is War!  It will be presented at Comic Con International 2012, during the Amazing Spider-Man panel on Sunday, July 15.

It seems Avengers vs X-Men will just be ending this summer, and already Marvel is moving onto their next “universe-altering event”.  Count me as one of the fans who is not impressed.  Marvel can’t even go four months of letting writers tell their own unique stories without having to swoop all their books into one big money-grab.  Let books stand on their own, without having to rely on crossovers.  Or are Marvel (and DC Comics) afraid that fans won’t buy their books unless characters die, or promises are made that “nothing will be the same AGAIN!”

Anyway, below are the released images for THIS IS WAR!  Make sure to let your voice be heard in the comments section.
