Cold Slither Podcast Episode 3: Sitcomspiracy Theory

This week’s episode begins with the crew welcoming back returning guest Shirley Huang (@shirleyhuangESQ).

Today’s topic is TV sitcoms, starting with some conspiracy theories they have about certain shows.

The first show discussed is “Family Matters”, with theories based on Timdogg’s recent article on thekliqnation.com. Carl Winslow seems to have a lot of money to pay for the repairs on his home in the wake of various damages done by his clumsy inventor neighbor Steve Urkel. Some would say more than what a cop’s salary could sustain. Carl’s family members turn up missing, Aunt Rachel’s restaurant burns down and gets rebuilt with Winslow money, the rapid aging of Little Richie and the ultimate shady move– the sitcom wife swap!

Wife swapping also took place on “Fresh Prince of Bel Air” with a new Aunt Viv. The crew gets into more theories on that show concerning Hilary’s suddenly departed fiance, the similar crimelord status of Uncle Phil, the rapid aging of Little Nicky from a baby to a seven year old with an enlarged cranium.

More sitcomspiracy theories discussed surrounding “The Cosby Show”, “Diff’rent Strokes”, “Home Improvement”, “The Jeffersons”, “Saved By The Bell” & others.

The crew then gets into dark sitcom episodes, inspired by the recent Grantland.com article about “When sitcoms went dark”. Aside from the all time darkest moment in TV sitcom history, Mr. Horton on “Diff’rent Strokes” trying to molest Arnold & Dudley, the crew bring up serious episodes they remember from The Parent Hood, What’s Happening, Fresh Prince, The Jeffersons, Gimme a Break, saved by the Bell, Benson, The Wonder Years, Punky Brewster, All In The Family, & Valerie.

The weekly Sharkticon Pit segment sees plenty of ire towards BET on the heels of their hip hop awards show among other things while Eclectik vociferously defends Robin Givens. Final shouts out to All Balls Don’t Bounce (@ABDBMedia), The Black Guy Who Tips (@TBGWT, @rodimusprime, @SayDatAgain), Single Simulcast (@rashanii), aspiring actor cousin Donny Mitch (@donmitchtogo), Misty Copeland, Natasha Hastings, Ciara, TheKLIQNation.com, All Subjects Everything show (@CJStarchild), 12Kyle Radio (@12Kyle), The KneeGrow Majority (@Adjective_J), Stitcher Radio (stitcher.com), iOS5, the September, 1994 issue of Playboy and last, but not least, to you the listeners.
